Our House
The house itself is in the heart of the village and is on four floors,
only two of which will see human habitation, the attic and the cellar
will store respectively, the detritus of our life in Scotland and the
local hams and wines, which will constitute the essentials of life from
August onwards.
It dates from the start of the 20th century and has previously been
used as a restaurant/function rooms and then, when the family interest
in running it as such died out, a Pharmacy. It is blessed with the original
tile floors in the living and sleeping accommodation and with ceilings
of the highest quality sweet chestnut throughout. The house was the first
in the valley to get a television and so for major events all of the locals
would come there to watch the event. The benches built for this purpose
are still in the cellar.
