In MARCH, Cortelazor, along with the rest of Spain throws itself whole-heartedly into the celebration of Easter and its preceding week, Semana Santa. While the huge Mariology of Sevilla and Malaga may be pre-eminent from a size point of view, the passion and commitment of the people of the Sierra, from the very oldest to the very youngest is humbling to see and it is a privilege to be part of it. The commitment of the youth of Aracena is highlighted by the fact that in April the under-10's of the city conduct their own Semana Santa Chica, where their costumes, their floats and their serious demeanour concedes nothing to those shown by their elders the month previously.
